"Do I really need lessons?" It is one of the questions we hear most often at Explora School & Club. The short answer: they are not mandatory, but they are almost always the best decision—especially if you want to enjoy yourself, progress and go home without avoidable injuries.
You learn faster with less frustration
A qualified instructor (TD I, II or III) knows exactly which mistakes beginners make and how to fix them on the spot. What might take a self-taught skier several days of trial and error can start to click in a two-hour lesson. Fewer unnecessary falls means more time skiing and more fun.
You avoid bad habits that are hard to unlearn later
Stance, weight distribution and braking technique are learned from the start. If your first days are spent crouching or snowploughing without control, your body memorises those patterns. Correcting them later takes more time and patience than learning properly from the beginning.
It is safer for you and everyone around you
The mountain does not forgive mistakes. Knowing how to control your speed, respect right-of-way rules on the slope and choose a run suited to your level keeps everyone safe. An instructor teaches mountain rules while you practise, not just sport technique.

In a private lesson or small group, the content is tailored to you. Want confidence on red runs? Need to conquer the drag lift? Preparing for your first off-piste trip? A good instructor designs the session around what you need, not a generic script.
